Janira Willis read the scripture describing the call of Jeremiah from the Lord:
The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
"Ah, Sovereign Lord," I said, "I do not know how to speak; I am only a child."
But the Lord said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must GO to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you," declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 1:4-8
At Lakemount our mission is to connect people with the life-changing presence of Jesus Christ. As we partner with parents to position kids close to Jesus (both His presence and His teachings) we must first and foremost believe that a child is never "only a child". Rather, our children are individuals with God-sized destinies greater than what can sometimes be seen on the surface. When we embrace the significance of pouring into the lives of children a sense of purpose and destiny, then we can reap the privilege of seeing children actively living lives honouring to God.
Therefore, we want to take this next step in motivating the children of Lakemount and its surrounding community to GO and be the amazing kids God's created them to be! GREEN LIGHT Kids Ministries was the final name we agreed on at the end of our retreat. Everytime I think of our new name and see the colour green, I'm excited! We want our kids to learn to recognize God's voice and speak the words God's given them to speak. We want them to be bold and go and share the life changing love of Jesus.

Get ready to bless our kids at Lakemount, and embrace the significance of the difference you are making by pouring into their young lives. Be sure to talk about the new name change coming in January. Encourage them in the destiny God has for their lives, even now. Change their thinking about being "only a child", and give them the GREEN LIGHT...GO!

AWESOME!!!! this is so what i have wanted for my children - this mindset. thank you for valuing our children and wanting so much for them! and for seeing them as MORE - WAY more - than "just kids".
